175 años haciendo del Honor la principal divisa

Abstract

La Guardia Civil cumple 175 años de historia en los que se ha consolidado como una de las Instituciones en las que los españoles más confían. Este fuerte vínculo de confianza se ha construido a partir de un desempeño enormemente eficaz en la lucha contra todas las formas de criminalidad y de unos valores con los que la sociedad española se identifica. La Guardia Civil ha conseguido, así, una exitosa adaptación a las exigencias de cada momento histórico y un creciente afecto por parte de los ciudadanos, de tal suerte que no se entendería la historia moderna y contemporánea de España sin la Guardia Civil. Es indudable que el futuro traerá consigo nuevos desafíos, algunos ya evidentes en nuestros días, pero la misma tenacidad mostrada en la defensa de los valores que encarna la Guardia Civil desde su fundación harán posible la respuesta a los nuevos retos desde la excelencia.

The Guardia Civil celebrates 175 years of history in which it has established itself as one of the Institutions in which Spanish citizens most trust. This strong bond of trust has been built on an enormously effective performance in the fight against all forms of crime and values with which Spanish society identifies itself. The Guardia Civil has achieved, thus, a successful adaptation to the demands of each historical moment and a growing affection of the citizens, in such a way that the modern and contemporary history of Spain would not be understood without the Guardia Civil. Undoubtedly, the future will bring new challenges, some already evident in our days. The same tenacity shown in the defense of the values embodied by the Guardia Civil since its founding will make a possible response built up with excellence.
