Factores intervinientes en los efectos del abuso sexual infantil en la etapa adulta

Abstract

El abuso sexual en la infancia (ASI) supone una transgresión de la integridad del menor, invadiendo su intimidad y traicionando su confianza. Este delito está extremadamente silenciado, llegando a revelarse únicamente un pequeño porcentaje de todos los casos que se dan debido al estigma social que supone. El ASI puede generar una variabilidad de síntomas que hace prácticamente imposible concretar una sintomatología propia del ASI. Por lo tanto, no se puede determinar que, porque un menor ha sufrido abuso sexual, va a presentar ciertos síntomas al cien por cien. De la misma manera que no podremos achacar la presencia de una sintomatología a un posible abuso sexual en el pasado. El objetivo principal de este trabajo es determinar los factores que influyen en el efecto del abuso sexual en la infancia y ver cómo estos factores llevan a las víctimas a desarrollar ciertos patrones de personalidad, de apego, de sexualidad, etc. en la etapa adulta. Asimismo, trataremos definiciones de abuso sexual infantil de algunos autores, cómo se encuentra tipificado en el Código Penal español, describir los diferentes tipos de abuso y de abusadores sexuales, así como diversos datos estadísticos que nos ayuden a ponernos en contexto y entender un poco mejor esta realidad del ASI.

Child sexual abuse entails a transgression of the child’s integrity, invading their intimacy and betraying their trust. This crime is extremely silenced, being exposed a very low percentage of all the abuses taking place due to the social stigma. The variability of the symptoms caused by child sexual abuse makes almost impossible for professionals to specify a symptomatology. Therefore, we cannot ensure that a minor will show certain symptoms after being sexually abused. Similarly, we will not be able to blame any future symptomatology to a possible sexual abuse in their childhood. The aim of this study is to determine all the factors that influence the effect of child sexual abuse and to note how these factors may cause the development of some patterns of personality, attachment, sexuality, etc. in their adulthood. In addition, we will present some authors’ definition of child sexual abuse, how it is classified in the Spanish Código Penal, descriptions of types of abuse and sexual abusers, as well as statistical data that may help us understand a little bit better the context and reality of child sexual abuse.
