Abstract
This study is based on a multifactorial perspective on the relationship between family climate, self-esteem and maternal and paternal communication with eating disorders, in comparison with a non-clinical group. The results of the Family Climate Scale, the Rosenberg Scale and the Parental-Adolescent Communication Scale have reflected that in terms of cohesion, expressiveness, self-esteem and father open communication the non-clinical group of participants had lower scores. On the other point, in terms of family conflict and offensive maternal and paternal communication the clinical group of participants had higher scores. In conclusion, people with eating disorders seems to have lower levels of family climate, self-esteem and maternal-paternal communication than people without this diagnose.
