Actualidad y futuro del tratamiento y la reinserción social de los delincuentes sexuales

Abstract

Debido a las graves consecuencias que los delitos sexuales tienen para sus víctimas, los agresores sexuales constituyen un grupo delictivo de interés prioritario para la adopción de medidas preventivas, de tratamiento y reinserción. En este trabajo se revisa, en primer lugar, la actualidad de los tratamientos aplicados durante las últimas décadas con los agresores sexuales, especialmente en el marco de las prisiones españolas, así como la evaluación de su eficacia. Dicha eficacia se ha ponderado tradicionalmente a partir de la medición de la reincidencia posterior de los sujetos tratados; y más modernamente, a partir de los cambios terapéuticos experimentados por los sujetos como resultado del tratamiento, en factores de riesgo críticos como actitudes y justificaciones delictivas, agresividad, déficits en habilidades sociales, etc. En segundo término, se presentan diversas iniciativas recientes de intervención con delincuentes sexuales en el contexto comunitario, orientadas a favorecer su proceso de reinserción social y a evitar así que dañen a nuevas víctimas.

Due to the severe repercussions a sex offence victim suffers, the prevention, treatment and community reintegration of sexual offenders is a priority for most of the societies around the world. Firstly, this study reviews the current state of sex offenders’ treatment programs applied over the previous decades in the Spanish prisons and then reviews the main results found from the effectiveness of the intervention. The effectiveness of these programs has been traditionally assessed through several recidivism measurement of treated sex offenders; and more recently throughout the therapeutic change of the offender’s main risk factors such as attitudes and justifications of violence, aggressiveness, social skills difficulties, etc. Secondly, this paper introduces the recent treatment innovations used with sex offenders within the community. Their aim is to improve the social reintegration of sex offenders into the community and thus prevent them from harming new victims.
