Study of the relations between the Italian Mafia and Lazio’s Governance

Abstract

La mafia italiana ha sido una de las estructuras del crimen organizado más influyentes de la historia. Se considera que la mafia sigue siendo significativa para la gobernanza de Italia, además de suponer una amenaza para la ciudadanía italiana. El objetivo del trabajo será analizar, a través de una amplia investigación, la interacción entre la mafia italiana y el Estado, centrada específicamente en el gobierno local del Lacio. Los puntos clave de la investigación serán la corrupción, el poder territorial y la violencia directa.

The Italian Mafia has been one of the most influential organized crime configurations in history. It is considered that the mafia is still significant for the governance of Italy, as well as supposes a threat for the Italian citizenship. The objective of the work will be to analyze, through extensive research, the interaction between the Italian mafia and the State, centered specifically on Lazio’s local government. The key points for investigation will be corruption, territorial power, and direct violence.
