Nacionalismo vasco: partidarios y detractores de ETA. Política antiterrorista del gobierno español

Abstract

El terrorismo de ETA constituyó durante más de 40 años el principal problema a nivel político-social en España. Este trabajo recoge el recorrido histórico de la organización terrorista nacionalista vasca Euskadi Ta Askatasuna (ETA), cuyo objetivo político consistía en perseguir la independencia del País Vasco de España y Francia a través de la construcción de un Estado socialista en Euskal Herria, sin mediar negociación alguna y haciendo uso exclusivo de la lucha armada hasta el año 2011, momento en el que la organización anuncia el cese definitivo de sus operaciones. La reacción social del pueblo vasco ante la extrema violencia de la banda y su división, por tanto, entre los partidarios y detractores de ETA es otro de los temas principales a estudiar en esta revisión bibliográfica. Por último, se realiza un breve análisis sobre la legislación en materia de terrorismo vigente en España y la política antiterrorista llevada a cabo en la lucha contra el terrorismo nacional con el objetivo de lograr la desarticulación del comando terrorista vasco.

For more than 40 years, ETA was the main political-social problem in Spain. This dissertation describes the historical journey of the Basque terrorist nationalist organization Euskadi Ta Askatasuna (ETA), whose political objective was the independence of the Basque Country from Spain and France through the construction of a socialist state in Euskal Herria. This objective to be achieved without negotiations and making exclusive use of the armed struggle until 2011, when the organization announced the definitive cessation of its operations. Another of the main topics included in this bibliographic review is the reaction of the Basque people to the extreme violence of the terrorist group and the social fracture between supporters and detractors of ETA. Lastly, a brief analysis is made of the legislation on terrorism in force in Spain and the anti-terrorist policy carried out in the fight against ETA with the aim of dismantling the Basque terrorist group.
