Abstract
In recent years, in Spain, the installed electrical power of photovoltaic systems has experienced a very large growth, going from 4.6 GW in 2015 to about 15 GW in 2021. In addition, according to the National Integrated Energy and Climate Plan, the goal is for that figure to increase to 39 GW by 2030.
Currently, 2.7 GW of this installed capacity comes from facilities
of self-consumption that, on occasions, can also pour energy into the network. These
facilities seek that the generation of energy by the panels is the maximum
possible to be able to make them profitable, and they also seek to pour quality energy into the network.
To get the maximum power from photovoltaic panels there are MPPTs
(Maximum Power Point Tracker), which look for the working point of the panel where
generates maximum power regardless of ambient conditions, and
keeps the panel working at that point.
In order to pour quality energy into the grid, the current poured into it must be controlled, minimizing harmonics and synchronizing the angle with that of the grid voltage.
In this project both the MPPT system and the control system of
power poured into the grid for a 20 kW photovoltaic panel system
nominal that pours all its power production into the grid are designed.
For a system of these characteristics, the usual grid-connection structure used is the one known as Two-Stage, which consists of a step-up DC-DC converter
voltage in series with a DC-AC converter (also known as an inverter) as
main elements. The structure also has a filter to attenuate the
harmonics in the current, and a step-up transformer to equalize the voltage
to that of the grid.
