Mingxiu zhandao, andu Chencang (明修棧道,暗度陳倉). Mingxiu zhandao, andu Chencang (明修棧道,暗度陳倉). This phrase of Chinese folk wisdom, coined as such in a Yuan dynasty writing around the 13th century A.D., refers to a fabulous episode of antiquity three centuries before our era. It is something that occurred in a time of political instability shortly after the death of the great emperor Qin Shihuang in 210 B.C. Approaching this story and its context has the potential to pave a path for cultural dialogue with Eastern traditions.
