Abstract

Este trabajo presenta los resultados preliminares de la investigación realizada sobre la relación entre violencia interpersonal y violencia hacia los animales. Concretamente, el objetivo principal es examinar la relación entre la violencia de pareja y el maltrato hacia los animales en Ecuador. Hasta donde se tiene conocimiento, esta es la primera investigación que examina dicho fenómeno en este país. Esta investigación pretende ser un punto de partida para perfeccionar programas integrales de prevención, detección y erradicación de estas formas de violencia y de atención y protección de las víctimas, adaptados al contexto ecuatoriano
