Abstract

El autor ofrece un análisis singular de las tres primeras novelas de la saga de Dune y las obras audiovisuales que se han elaborado a partir de ellas, utilizando la metodología propuesta por la teoría de la moda. En este libro, se propone ajustar la mirada a unos parámetros concretos, marcados por el cuerpo revestido, el territorio físico y cultural en el que tiene lugar la performance visible y sensible de la identidad exterior (Calefato, 2003). Se leen e interpretan los cuerpos y las ropas de las mujeres y los hombres fremen, personajes ficticios que habrían sabido adaptarse a un planeta yermo y desolado, integrándose en dicha ecología como un elemento más del sistema y usando de manera crítica, inteligente y sostenible los recursos disponibles. A partir de la cultura del revestir fremen, el autor brinda elementos concretos de moda ecoética aplicables a la cotidianidad.

The author offers a singular analysis of the first three novels of the Dune saga and the audiovisual works that have been produced from them, using the methodology proposed by Fashion theory. In this book, he intends to adjust the gaze to specific parameters, marked by the clothed body, the physical and cultural territory in which the visible and sensitive performance of external identity takes place (Calefato, 2003). Here are read and interpreted bodies and clothes of Fremen women and men, fictional characters who have been able to adapt to a barren and desolate planet, integrating themselves into the ecology as one more element of the system and using critically, intelligently and sustainably the available resources. Based on the culture of Fremen clothing, the author provides specific elements of ecoethical fashion applicable to everyday life.
