Politics in the Middle East is linked to tribal communities spread throughout the territory, outside the borders of States. The wars in Libya and Yemen confirm that any strategy fails if factors such as ethnicity, class and tribe are not taken into account.
The West is largely unaware of the tribes of the Middle East and their historical and political role. He tends to ignore this aspect in any analysis due to his mentality away from the concept of tribe. In contrast, the Western worldview is deeply rooted in Westphalia, where the nation-state is formulated.
