El acuerdo comercial entre la Unión Europea y el MERCOSUR

Abstract

Es curioso que en los últimos tiempos de desglobalización en los que vivimos, haya florecido el acuerdo comercial entre las organizaciones de Mercosur y la Unión Europea. Este acuerdo, difícil de alcanzar, viene impulsado por el interés económico de ambos bloques supranacionales en la apertura y liberalización del mercado externo mediante pactos. Este acuerdo considerado como el mayor acuerdo de cooperación entre la Unión Europea y el Mercosur, ha desembocado en la redacción y firma del mismo, quedando aún pendiente la ratificación, la cual se encuentra estancada para algunos países. El presente acuerdo además de recoger la regulación en materia y aspectos comerciales, incorpora también normativa basada por ejemplo en la propiedad intelectual, laboral, medio ambiente etc. Es por ello, que se analizarán las relaciones comerciales entre el Mercosur y la Unión Europea y los puntos más fuertes de este histórico acuerdo.

It is curious that in the recent times of de-globalisation in which we live, the trade agreement between the Mercosur organisations and the European Union has flourished. This agreement, difficult to reach, is driven by the economic interest of both supranational blocs in the opening and liberalisation of the external market by means of pacts. This agreement, considered to be the largest cooperation agreement between the European Union and Mercosur, has led to its drafting and signature, with ratification still pending, which is at a standstill for some countries. The present agreement, in addition to including regulations on trade matters and aspects, also incorporates regulations based, for example, on intellectual property, labour, the environment, etc. For this reason, we will analyse the trade relations between Mercosur and the European Union and the strongest points of this historic agreement.
