Europa busca su soberanía digital.

Abstract

Tras algo más de un año y medio desde que fueron propuestos por la Comisión Europea, el Parlamento Europeo dio su visto bueno el pasado 5 de julio a dos reglamentos: la ley de servicios digitales (DSA) y la ley de mercados digitales (DMA).

La finalidad de ambas normas es acotar el ingente poder de las grandes plataformas digitales, aumentando el control sobre ellas con el afán de lograr un internet más seguro y garantista de los derechos de los usuarios, mientras se fomentan la innovación, la cohesión y la competitividad en el mercado único digital.

After more than a year and a half since they were proposed by the European Commission, the European Parliament gave its approval on July 5 to two regulations: the Digital Services Act (DSA) and the Digital Markets Act (DMA).

The purpose of both regulations is to curb the enormous power of large digital platforms, increasing control over them with the aim of making the Internet safer and guaranteeing users' rights, while promoting innovation, cohesion and competitiveness in the digital single market.
