La educación para la muerte. Un reto formativo para la sociedad actual

Abstract

El objetivo de este artículo de reflexión es crear bases que nos permitan afrontar la muerte como un derecho para el alumnado y no como una sentencia. Es importante incluir la educación para la muerte en el sistema educativo actual como tema transversal, para ofrecer una respuesta al actual discurso de las competencias básicas, desde el cual se nos invita a preparar a nuestro alumnado para resolver sus propios problemas ante distintas situaciones, lo que, en definitiva, significa saber vivir y adaptarse a las necesidades que la sociedad nos plantea. Con objeto de formar, preparar, orientar, investigar, asesorar y desmitificar el miedo a la muerte, a esta y a futuras generaciones, abordamos este tema tabú que hoy es la educación para la muerte.

The target of this reflection paper is to create a basis which allows us to confront death as a right and not as a judgment for the students. It is important to include the death education in the educational current system as transverse topic, in order to offer a response to the current speech of the basic competencies. From this, we are invited to prepare our pupils to solve their own problems in relation to different situations, such as how to be able to live and how to be able to adapt to the needs that the society suggests to us. In order to form, to prepare, to face, to investigate, to advise and to demythologize the fear of the death, for this and future generations, we tackle this taboo topic which today is the death education.
