¿Dosis de recuerdo para la solidaridad?

Abstract

Desde la marea negra del Prestige a la crisis de Ucrania muestran como la sociedad española reacciona al momento de catástrofe con responsabilidad, cercanía y solidaridad. La capacidad de movilización, los aportes personales y económicos dibujan para estos momentos de emergencia una capacidad relevante de compromiso. Ahora bien, qué ocurre una vez que este momento pierde intensidad, presencia mediática o surgen otras emergencias.

La fisonomía de la solidaridad en España parece que requiere dosis de recuerdo, en forma de nuevas emergencias, para poder desplegarse con “normalidad”. De ahí las preguntas constantes que nos hacemos, personal y comunitariamente: ¿son los tiempos postpandémicos más solidarios? ¿la pandemia nos ha enseñado el camino de la solidaridad? Aunque en el fondo sabemos que son preguntas sin una respuesta unívoca. El autor dibuja un breve recorrido por algunos análisis que entrevean la evolución de la solidaridad en estos tiempos postpandémicos, para posteriormente plantear algunas reflexiones que puedan ayudarnos a la acción en estos tiempos inciertos y complejos.

Events ranging from the Prestige oil spill to the Ukrainian crisis show that, in the face of catastrophe, Spanish society reacts with responsibility, empathy and solidarity. In times of emergency, capability of mobilisation and personal and financial contributions evidence a notable capacity of commitment. What happens, however, when such times lose their intensity and media presence or when other emergencies arise? The physiognomy of solidarity in Spain would appear to require booster shots in the form of new emergencies in order to develop with “normality”. Hence the constant personal and community queries that we pose ourselves: Are our post-pandemic times more solidary? Has the pandemic shown us the way to solidarity? Deep inside, though, we know that these questions lack a definite answer. In this article, the author makes a brief review of some of the analyses that offer a glimpse of the evolution of solidarity in the post-pandemic period, and then goes on to present some reflections that may help us to take action in these complex and uncertain times.
