De la integridad de la creación a la ecología integral : estudio comparativo entre la categoría integridad de la creación en el Magisterio local de la Conferencia Episcopal de Indonesia y la categoría ecología integral en la Laudato sì y su aplicación a la crisis medioambiental en el contexto indonesio

Abstract

Bajo el título «de la integridad de la creación a la ecología integral: estudio comparativo entre la categoría integridad de la creación en el Magisterio local de la Conferencia Episcopal de Indonesia y la categoría ecología integral en la Laudato sì y su aplicación a la crisis “medioambiental” en el contexto indonesio» pretendemos presentar este trabajo de investigación para la tesis doctoral. El trabajo está motivado por una profunda convicción en la que se entrecruzan el interés teológico moral con las inquietudes personales del doctorando: la convicción de la gran trascendencia y la fuerza iluminadora y transformadora de la Laudato sì y los documentos denominados ecológicos, tanto del Magisterio eclesiástico como los documentos de las Iglesias locales de Asia e Indonesia para el contexto indonesio. Consideramos adecuado e imprescindible el análisis y la profundización de la categoría cultural, muy marcada por la interconexión entre todos los componentes de la naturaleza y el carácter orgánico cósmico de la cultura asiática. Así, como el título indica, el desarrollo de esta investigación es doble: la comparación entre la categoría «integralidad de la creación» y la «ecología integral» y una iluminación desde la teología al problema ecológico de Indonesia. Es un trabajo de interés y enfoque teológico. Está, además, animado por la convicción de que los documentos del Magisterio eclesiástico y los de las conferencias episcopales asiáticas y la de Indonesia entrañan un enorme papel fundamental desde la mirada católica para el contexto indonesio, especialmente para el «pequeño rebaño católico» en la casa gigante musulmana de Indonesia. Yendo más allá, este trabajo pretende ofrecer un diálogo y aplicar las reflexiones valiosas de dichos documentos desde el punto de vista católico al contexto indonesio. La elección del tema responde, por tanto, a ese doble interés de estudiar los documentos claves de la Doctrina Social de la Iglesia y el anhelo desafiante de hacer una reflexión teológica de carácter contextual, que ayude a la aplicación de los documentos a un contexto trascendental en la problemática medioambiental de Indonesia. En base a todos estos trasfondos, de la grave crisis medioambiental, de esta Indonesia agonizante, y motivado por la experiencia personal existencial como un despertar ambiental, y más allá como hijo indonesio, este trabajo de investigación pretende poner de relieve estas realidades preocupantes, reflexionarlas a la luz del Magisterio eclesiástico y la Doctrina Social de la Iglesia y de la teología moral. Es el objetivo principal. Es el porqué de esta tesis. En este marco, el estudio gira en torno a las siguientes preguntas de investigación: si la «integridad de la creación» o «ecología integral» es la respuesta de la teología moral católica para los problemas ecológicos, ¿en qué medida dicha propuesta va a implicar, es decir, cambiar, iluminar y afectar, a los millones de indonesios en sus diversidades culturales, raciales y religiosas, para colaborar y salvaguardar el planeta? ¿Cómo va a ayudar esta propuesta a los indonesios a vivir, pensar y volver a su raíz cultural ecológica?

Under the title “From the integrity of creation to integral ecology: comparative study between the category integrity of creation in the local magisterium of the Indonesian Bishops Conference and the category integral ecology in Laudato sì and its application to the environmental crisis in the Indonesian context”, I intend to present this research work for the doctoral dissertation. This investigation is motivated by a deep conviction in which the moral theological interest is intertwined with my personal concerns: the conviction of the great transcendence and the enlightening and transforming power of Laudato sì and the so-called ecological documents of the local churches of Asia and Indonesia for the Indonesian context. It is appropriate and essential to analyze and deepening the cultural category, marked by interconnection between all the components of nature and the cosmic organic character of Asian culture. Thus, the development of this research is twofold: the comparison between the category “integrality of the creation” and “integral ecology” and un illumination from theology to the ecological crisis of Indonesia. It is a work of theological interest and approach. Moreover, it is animated by the conviction that the documents of the ecclesiastical Magisterium and those of the Asian and Indonesian Bishops' Conferences have an enormous fundamental role from the Catholic point of view for the Indonesian context, especially for the "small Catholic flock" in the giant Muslim house of Indonesia. Furthermore, this investigation aims to offer a dialogue and searching for the valuable reflections of these documents from the Catholic teaching to this context. The choice of the topic, therefore, responds to the double interest of studying the key documents of the Social Doctrine of the Church and the challenging effort to make a theological reflection of contextual character, which helps the application of the documents to a transcendental context in the environmental crisis of Indonesia. Based on all these backgrounds, of the serious environmental crisis, of this agonizing Indonesia, and motivated by existential personal experience as an environmental awakening, and further as an Indonesian, this dissertation aims to highlight these troubling realities, to reflect them in the light of the Church Magisterium and the Social Doctrine of the Church and moral theology. This is the main objective. It is the reason for this work. In this framework, the study revolves around the following research questions: if the "integrity of creation" or "integral ecology" is the answer of Catholic moral theology for ecological problems, to what sense such a reflection and idea going to transform, change and enlighten the millions of Indonesians in their cultural, racial and religious diversities to collaborate and safeguard the planet? How is this insight going to help Indonesians to live, think and return to their ecological cultural roots?
