The text focuses on the Service-Learning (ApS) methodology in the context of higher education institutions of the Society of Jesus, especially those that are part of the UNIJES network. It is highlighted that the ApS fits perfectly with the Jesuit tradition and mission of accompanying and training competent, committed, conscientious and compassionate people, professionals and citizens. In addition, the ApS is related to the notion of effatá (opening up) in Ignatian spirituality, highlighting that the methodology helps students to open up to reality and transform it in a constructive way.
