dc.description.abstract | Este proyecto de fin de carrera pretende analizar las características del ethos, el pathos y el logos en la oratoria de Donald Trump. El objetivo principal de este proyecto es examinar los rasgos de ethos, pathos y logos en la oratoria de Donald Trump y las herramientas correspondientes que emplea para cada uno de ellos. Como objetivos secundarios, el autor explorará cómo se manifiestan estos pilares de la retórica en la oratoria de Trump y cuál de ellos asume un papel más destacado. La hipótesis general de este trabajo postula que Trump tiende a potenciar las emociones de su audiencia (pathos) y a aumentar su credibilidad como orador (ethos), en parte debido a su éxito como hombre de negocios. Para lograr este objetivo, se analizarán tres discursos diferentes de la campaña electoral de Trump en 2016. El análisis se centrará en identificar los rasgos gramaticales, no verbales y prosódicos que diferencian la aplicación de ethos, pathos y logos por parte de Trump en su oratoria. | es-ES |
dc.description.abstract | This final degree project aims to analyze the features of ethos, pathos, and logos in Donald Trump's public speaking. The primary objective of this project is to examine the features of ethos, pathos, and logos in Donald Trump's public speaking and the corresponding tools he employs for each of them. As secondary objectives, the author will explore how these pillars of rhetoric manifest themselves in Trump's oratory and which of them assumes a more prominent role. The overarching hypothesis of this paper posits that Trump tends to leverage his audience's emotions (pathos) and enhance his credibility as a speaker (ethos), partly due to his success as a businessman. To achieve this goal, give answer to this objectives, three different speeches from Trump's 2016 election campaign will be analyzed. The analysis will focus on identifying grammatical, nonverbal, and prosodic features that differentiate Trump's application of ethos, pathos, and logos in his public speaking. | en-GB |
