. DOPKI (Improving the Knowledge and Practices in Organ Donation) was a project funded by the European Commission under the 6th Framework Program. Its primary goal was to enhance knowledge and establish a practical methodology for assessing organ donation potential, outcomes, safety, and quality. The project aimed to develop specific benchmarks, share data on donation potential and factors influencing it, define excellence targets, assess risk levels in donor evaluation, share information about graft outcomes, and establish safety limits for expanded donors. The project also sought to collaborate with the World Health Organization (WHO), propose actions to boost donation rates, and provide recommendations to policymakers. Led by the Spanish National Organization of Transplantation, the project involved a consortium of 12 organizations.
