This article analyzes the strategies employed by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) since the first decade of the 21st century to increase its influence in global economic governance dynamics. In particular, the OECD has undertaken three strategies: a strategic alliance with the G-20; the inclusion of new members, especially states whose membership is deemed strategic, and the strengthening of non-membership partnerships, with the aim of supporting the transitional development of countries in Latin America and the Caribbean. Using a qualitative methodology involving the documentary review of academic, official, and press texts, it is concluded that these strategies have yielded varying results for the organization. On the one hand, the links with the G-20 are relevant, but the inclusion of new members has not been clearly effective.
