El rol del Apego en la Violencia filioparental: Una revisión de alcance

Abstract

La investigación sobre la violencia filioparental (VFP) continúa formulando hipótesis sobre los mecanismos que conducen a su desarrollo. En los últimos años se ha señalado la necesidad de aplicar a su estudio enfoques teóricos que sean congruentes con su naturaleza relacional y den sentido a la evidencia disponible. La teoría del apego ha sido frecuentemente utilizada en el estudio de la violencia, pero escasamente en este ámbito. Esta revisión de alcance tiene como objetivo analizar el estado actual de conocimiento acerca de la relación entre apego y VFP y valorar el potencial de este paradigma teórico para su comprensión. Este estudio se basa en una búsqueda sistemática en las siguientes bases de datos: PsycInfo y Academic Search Complete, Scopus y Web of Science. Un total de 9 estudios fueron identificados. Los resultados sugieren que la inseguridad en el apego se relaciona positivamente con la VFP, identificando la mayoría un efecto mediador del apego en la relación entre victimización en la infancia y la VFP. La escasa y reciente emergencia de investigaciones que vinculen estas variables no ha permitido contrastar estos resultados con hallazgos previos. No obstante, es un enfoque prometedor, porque nos ayuda a explicar la relación entre victimización familiar, directa y vicaria, y violencia ascendente. Además, este estudio amplía nuestro conocimiento sobre la VFP y acarrea importantes implicaciones prácticas al subrayar el rol de los vínculos de apego, no solo para la mejora de su intervención sino también para el diseño de futuras investigaciones y el desarrollo de acciones preventivas.

Research on Child-to-Parent Violence (CPV) continues to formulate hypotheses about the mechanisms that leads to its development. In recent years, the need to apply theoretical approaches to its study, that are consistent with its relational nature and give meaning to the available evidence, has been pointed out. Attachment theory has been frequently used in the study of violence, but scarcely in this area. This scoping review aims to analyze the current state of knowledge about the relationship between attachment and CPV and evaluate the potential of this theoretical paradigm for its understanding. This study is based on a systematic search in the following databases: PsycInfo and Academic Search, Scopus and Web of Science. A total of 9 studies were identified. The results suggest that attachment insecurity is positively related to CPV and most of them have identified a mediating effect of attachment in the relationship between childhood victimization and CPV. The scarce and recent emergence of research that links these variables has not allowed us to contrast these results with previous findings. However, it is a promising approach, because it helps us explain the relationship between direct and vicarious family victimization, and ascending violence. Furthermore, this study expands our knowledge about CPV and has important practical implications by highlighting the role of attachment bonds, not only for the improvement of its intervention but also for the design of future research and the development of preventive actions.
