A new era for women's football : a comprenensive study of the growth factors, and evolution of the game
Resumen
This dissertation examines how the global expansion of women's football has affected the sport. The study concentrates on three primary areas: the evolution of women's football, changing attitudes in society and how those changes impact the sport, and the impact of the media on the sport.
The first study topic examines women's football's growing popularity, teams, competitions, and pay. The first research question focuses on the expansion of women's football. The number of female footballers and clubs has grown. FIFA and other country-level governing bodies are creating female counterparts of male events, expanding the sport's scope and appeal. The second objective of the study is to examine how popular perceptions of women's football have affected the sport. Society and changed attitudes and mindsets have made this behaviour more visible and accepted by abandoning traditional thinking. Female athletes like the sport more because they feel supported and acknowledged. Furthermore, the study conducted in the dissertation explores how media affects female football players. The media has made the sport more enticing to fans who previously had no way to follow events and their teams. The media connects sportswomen and spectators, who are crucial to marketing. Moreover, the media gave sportswomen a trampoline to promote role models and stand out for injustice.
According to the findings of the research conducted, there has been a significant increase in the sport's popularity over the past few years, and this is mostly due to two factors: the shifting attitudes of society regarding athletic competition and the media. Both of these factors have contributed to the sport becoming more well-known and popular among spectators as well as participants. These contributed towards female players receiving the recognition, opportunities, investments, and incomes they deserve. Women's football is no longer an overlooked, unreal concept; rather, it is something that has developed over the past few years and is anticipated to grow at a rapid rate over the course of the next few years.
