Orígenes y espiritualidad de los Misioneros de la Esperanza

Abstract

El Carisma MIES es un carisma fundacional eclesial germen de la Asociación Pública de Fieles Misioneros de la Esperanza (MIES). Esta asociación fue aprobada por primera vez en la diócesis de Málaga en el año 1970. Cuenta en la actualidad con más de 600 miembros. Está implantada en seis diócesis españolas y, fuera de España, en Ecuador, Paraguay, Argentina y El Chad. El presente trabajo investiga sus orígenes y la espiritualidad que la caracteriza. En su primera parte, de carácter histórico, hemos pretendido dilucidar los orígenes y la evolución institucional de la Asociación MIES hasta la aprobación de sus últimos Estatutos por parte de la Conferencia Episcopal Española en noviembre de 1993. Hemos indagado los orígenes familiares y la trayectoria personal de su fundador, Diego Ernesto Wilson Plata, hasta la primera aprobación diocesana ad experimentum de la Asociación, considerando el contexto social, político y eclesial y su evolución en los años correspondientes y señalando el momento y el modo en que surgió en él el impulso fundacional. El desarrollo institucional de la Asociación MIES, que abarca un periodo de 23 años hasta su actual configuración, ha tenido cuatro concreciones estatutarias reflejo del progreso en el descubrimiento y la adaptación del Carisma MIES a los cambios habidos en el entorno social, eclesial y en el interior de la misma asociación. La propuesta que hace el Carisma MIES de la consagración mediante los consejos evangélicos a los laicos unidos en matrimonio, compartida con otros carismas surgidos en torno al Concilio Vaticano II ha sido también objeto de estudio detallado. Nuestra investigación ha consistido en presentar la doctrina carismática sobre el tema y justificar su validez apoyándonos en las opiniones teológicas de diferentes autores de reconocido prestigio que se muestran favorables al reconocimiento eclesial de dicha consagración y a su regulación canónica. En la segunda parte hemos abordado el estudio de las características que dan identidad al Carisma MIES: la espiritualidad, el carácter mariano y la misión del mismo, siguiendo la metodología propia de la Teología Espiritual. La afirmación encontrada en los escritos fundacionales de que el Camino de la Infancia Espiritual es la espiritualidad carismática ha sido objeto de análisis pormenorizado. Se han cotejado tanto el enfoque como los diferentes elementos que el Carisma MIES señala a su espiritualidad con los escritos de santa Teresa del Niño Jesús y de la Santa Faz y las opiniones de teólogos especialistas en la doctrina teresiana, demostrando así la validez de la afirmación referida. El estudio del carácter mariano pone de manifiesto la centralidad del mismo en el Carisma MIES que considera a María inspiradora del propio carisma y enseña que la devoción a María es verdadera si tiene su expresión en el compromiso liberador de los hombres y que la propagación de dicha devoción ha de llevarse a cabo mediante el testimonio y la palabra oportuna. El culto mariano ha de conjugar equilibradamente la expresión litúrgica con la popular. La esperanza, advocación mariana propia, se la describe en sintonía con la espiritualidad teresiana propia del Carisma MIES. La imagen de la Virgen de la Esperanza Macarena, es la patrona y el símbolo carismático. Acogiendo el envío que hace Cristo a la Iglesia, sostenida con la fuerza del Espíritu, la misión carismática se despliega hacia los niños y jóvenes más desfavorecidos como su primer objetivo para ofrecerles un proyecto eclesial de maduración personal y comunitaria. También es objeto de esta misión la liberación integral de las personas. Dicha liberación ha de tener dos señas de identidad: debe llevarse a cabo desde la opción por los pobres y con actitud no violenta fruto de la vivencia de la bienaventuranza evangélica que debe informar toda la tarea liberadora.

The MIES Charism is a foundational ecclesial charism that is the seed of the Public Association of the Faithful Missionaries of Hope (MIES). This association was first approved in the Diocese of Malaga in 1970. It currently has more than 600 members. It is present in six Spanish dioceses and, outside Spain, in Ecuador, Paraguay, Argentina and Chad. This work investigates its origins and the spirituality that characterizes it. In the first part, of a historical nature, we have tried to elucidate the origins and institutional evolution of the MIES Association up to the approval of its last Statutes by the Spanish Episcopal Conference in November 1993. We have investigated the family origins and personal trajectory of its founder, Diego Ernesto Wilson Plata, up to his first diocesan approval ad experimentum of the Association, considering the social, political and ecclesial context and its evolution in the corresponding years and pointing out the moment and the way in which impulse arose in him foundational. The institutional development of the MIES Association, which covers a period of 23 years until its current configuration, has had four statutory concretions reflecting the progress in the discovery and adaptation of the MIES Charism to the changes in the social and ecclesial environment and within the association itself. The proposal made by the MIES Charism of consecration through the evangelical counsels to the laity united in marriage, shared with other charisms that arose around the Second Vatican Council, has also been the object of detailed study. Our research has consisted in presenting the charismatic doctrine on the subject and justifying its validity based on the theological opinions of different authors of recognized prestige who are in favour of the ecclesial recognition of this consecration and its canonical regulation. In the second part, we have approached the study of the characteristics that give identity to the MIES Charism: the spirituality, the Marian character and its mission, following the methodology of Spiritual Theology. The affirmation found in the foundational writings that the Way of Spiritual Infancy is the charismatic spirituality has been the object of detailed analysis. Both the approach and the different elements that the MIES Charism points out to its spirituality have been compared with the writings of St. Teresa of the Child Jesus and of the Holy Face and the opinions of theologians specialized in the Teresian doctrine, thus demonstrating the validity of the aforementioned affirmation. The study of the Marian character highlights its centrality in the MIES Charism, which considers Mary as the inspiration of the charism itself and teaches that devotion to Mary is true if it has its expression in the liberating commitment of human beings and that the propagation of this devotion must be carried out through witness and the appropriate word. Marian worship must combine liturgical and popular expressions in a balanced way. Hope, Marian invocation, is described in harmony with Teresian spirituality proper to the MIES charism. The image of the Virgen de la Esperanza Macarena is the patron saint and charismatic symbol. Welcoming the assignment of Christ to the Church, sustained by the power of the Spirit, the charismatic mission is deployed towards the most disadvantaged children and young people as its first objective in order to offer them an ecclesial project of personal and community maturity. The integral liberation of people is also the object of this mission. This liberation must have two signs of identity: it must be carried out from the option for the poor and with a non-violent attitude, fruit of the experience of the evangelical beatitude that must inform the whole liberating task.
