Bioética y soledad no deseada

Abstract

Un problema creciente en nuestra sociedad es la soledad no deseada, que afecta a la salud mental y general, convirtiéndose en un asunto de salud pública. Abordar esta cuestión desde la bioética requiere comprender las diversas formas de soledad y su relación con la naturaleza humana. Erich Fromm distingue entre "separatidad" y "soledad", destacando la necesidad humana de conexión y amor. La soledad no deseada se vuelve especialmente dolorosa en la vejez, con riesgos para la salud física y mental. La responsabilidad recae en la sociedad para mitigar esta situación, respetando la dignidad de las personas afectadas. La colaboración entre instituciones como Ballesol y la Cátedra de Bioética de la Universidad Pontificia Comillas busca comprender y abordar este desafío, ofreciendo estrategias de afrontamiento y promoviendo la conciencia pública sobre el tema.
