The dystopian genre, unlike pure fantasy, always presents us with a certain air of verisimilitude in its scenarios, a subtle border between that hypothetical, atrocious, and undesirable world and our everyday reality, barely separated from those nightmare universes by the functioning of different institutions or by the presence of certain counterweights against powers with omnimodous appetites. In uchronia, all these elements rest, in turn, on starting points that are anything but fictional, that is, they are anchored initially in historically situated situations and emphasize the idea that the course of events could well have been different, much darker and dystopian. Well, all of these issues are worked on, one way or another, in the television fiction of «The Man in the High Castle» (Frank Spotnitz, 2015-2019), a loose adaptation of Philip K. Dick's novel of the same name (1962). In this production, we see the development over time of triumphant totalitarian regimes after Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan achieve victory in World War II. This chapter addresses socialization in fascism and the functioning (and images) of the fascist educational system in the series.
