La misericordia y justicia divinas en la vida de San Pedro Fabro

Abstract

El objetivo de este trabajo es encontrar huellas de los conceptos de misericordia y justicia divinas en la vida de San Pedro Fabro y ofrecer una reflexión teológico – espiritual sobre esas categorías en la vida del santo jesuita. Para ello, hemos analizado la historia de la vida de este santo, su diario espiritual Memorial y sus cartas. También hemos recurrido a los testimonios de sus compañeros y a los expedientes del proceso de beatificación. Tras investigar la bibliografía de la que disponíamos, descubrimos que tanto la idea de la misericordia de Dios como la idea de la justicia de Dios estaban presentes en la vida y los escritos de este autor. Pedro Fabro retrata a Dios como misericordioso y justo al mismo tiempo. Según él, Dios utiliza su misericordia y su justicia para hacer el bien al hombre. Este concepto está en consonancia con el pensamiento teológico contemporáneo tal y como hemos llegado a conocerlo.

The aim of this paper is to find traces of the concepts of divine mercy and divine justice in the life of St. Peter Faber and to offer a theological and spiritual reflection on these categories in the life of the Jesuit saint. To do so, we have analysed the life story of this saint, his spiritual diary Memorial and his letters. We have also drawn on the testimonies of his companions and the files of the beatification process. After researching the bibliography available to us, we discovered that both the idea of God's mercy and the idea of God's justice were present in the life and writings of this author. Peter Faber portrays God as both merciful and just. According to him, God uses his mercy and justice to do good to man. This concept is in line with contemporary theological thought as we have come to know it.
