CRECIMIENTO DE LA INVERSIÓN EN EL SECTOR AGRÍCOLA EN ESPAÑA: SITUACIÓN ACTUAL Y POTENCIAL IMPACTO DE LA INVERSIÓN

Abstract

El sector agroalimentario constituye uno de los pilares fundamentales de la economía española, con un importante peso en términos de producción, empleo y valor añadido bruto. En este contexto, el sector agrícola, parte esencial del entramado agroalimentario, enfrenta actualmente numerosos desafíos estructurales que limitan su crecimiento y sostenibilidad, como la fragmentación empresarial, la escasa profesionalización y la lenta adopción de tecnología. En los últimos años, se ha observado una tendencia al alza en la inversión institucional, con la entrada de fondos de inversión que están adquiriendo empresas y tierras agrícolas, aportando capital, conocimiento estratégico e impulsando la transformación del sector. Este Trabajo de Fin de Grado tiene como objetivo principal analizar la situación actual del sector agrícola en España y comprender el papel emergente que los fondos de inversión están desempeñando en su modernización. Se pretende contextualizar los principales retos económicos, sociales y tecnológicos a los que se enfrenta el sector, al tiempo que se exploran las oportunidades derivadas de la inversión institucional como motor de cambio hacia una agricultura más profesionalizada, eficiente y sostenible. La investigación busca así aportar una visión integral sobre cómo el capital financiero puede contribuir al desarrollo y fortalecimiento de un sector clave para el futuro económico, social, ambiental y tecnológico del país.

The agri-food sector is one of the fundamental pillars of the Spanish economy, with a significant weight in terms of production, employment and gross value added. In this context, the agricultural sector, an essential part of the agri-food network, currently faces numerous structural challenges that limit its growth and sustainability, such as business fragmentation, low professionalization and the slow adoption of technology. In recent years, there has been an upward trend in institutional investment, with the entry of investment funds that are acquiring companies and agricultural land, providing capital, strategic knowledge and driving the transformation of the sector. The main objective of this thesis is to analyze the current situation of the agricultural sector in Spain and to understand the emerging role that investment funds are playing in its modernization. It aims to contextualize the main economic, social and technological challenges facing the sector, while exploring the opportunities arising from institutional investment as a driver of change towards a more professionalized, efficient and sustainable agriculture. The research thus seeks to provide a comprehensive view of how financial capital can contribute to the development and strengthening of a key sector for the economic, social, environmental and technological future of the country.
