Growth vs value: la segregación de Enersis de Endesa

Abstract

En este trabajo nos centraremos en tres compañías (Enel, Endesa y Enersis). Analizaremos el spin-off que realizó Endesa con Enersis y su compra por Enel en 2014, con el objetivo de determinar su influencia en el precio de la acción de Endesa a día de hoy. Para ello, realizaremos un índice sintético en R o Python compuesto por varias compañías comparables del sector y tomaremos como variables algunos de sus indicadores financieros. El objetivo es llegar a la conclusión sobre si la transacción creó o destruyó valor para el accionista.

In this work, we will focus on three companies: Enel, Endesa, and Enersis. We will analyse the spin-off that Endesa undertook with Enersis and its acquisition by Enel in 2014, with the aim of determining its influence on Endesa's current share price. To achieve this, we will create a synthetic index in R or Python composed of several comparable companies in the sector, using some of their financial indicators as variables. The objective is to conclude whether the transaction created or destroyed value for the shareholder.
