dc.description.abstract | In the third millennium, global production systems have shifted towards efficiency, reducing costs but creating job instability. Continuous training has become essential due to evolving work practices. These changes impact workers' health, adding psychosocial risks alongside traditional ones. Job instability, especially in the growing service sector, influences well-being, leading to physical and mental health problems, including absenteeism. In recent decades, social justice and workers' rights have become central concerns. The Catholic Church has historically supported fair labor practices, beginning with the 1891 encyclical Rerum Novarum, which emphasized the dignity of work. Today, challenges include economic crises, precarious employment, and the growing informal economy. Argentina, in particular, faces high inflation, unemployment, and distrust in democratic institutions. Despite progress in workers' rights, globalization and technological revolutions have worsened inequality, fostering individualism and social discontent. The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted our interconnectedness and the need to address health and labor inequities for a better future. | en-GB |
