“El impacto de la IA en la ciberseguridad: una visión europea”.

Abstract

La inteligencia artificial es un fenómeno que desde hace varios años está revolucionando el mundo. Se están descubriendo y consiguiendo cosas que se pensaban imposibles. Sin embargo, el desarrollo de la IA está avanzando extremadamente rápido, y sin ningún tipo de control. Por ello, la UE ha impulsado un reglamento con el objetivo de poner orden y fomentar el buen uso de la IA, además de apoyar a la innovación de dicha tecnología en la propia UE. Dicho reglamento se preocupa especialmente de establecer un marco jurídico uniforme para poder utilizar los sistemas de IA garantizando la salud, seguridad y los derechos fundamentales de los ciudadanos, sin que ello suponga ninguna restricción a la libre circulación, comercialización y utilización de mercancías y servicios basados en la IA. En todo caso, la IA como herramienta digital, y con las grandes capacidades que presenta, puede afectar en gran manera a la ciberseguridad. Pero las consecuencias positivas o negativas para la seguridad en el ciberespacio dependerán del uso que se haga de ella. Actualmente nos encontramos en una pugna entre ciberdelincuentes que utilizan la IA para mejorar y aumentar sus ciberataques, y la ciberseguridad, que la utiliza para reforzarse.

But the positive or negative consequences for security in cyberspace will depend on how it is used. We are currently in a struggle between cybercriminals who use AI to enhance and increase their cyberattacks, and cybersecurity, which uses it to strengthen itself.
