Origen y evolución del Tercer Sector en España

Abstract

Este texto revisa el origen y la evolución del Tercer Sector en España, detallando sus etapas históricas y su rol en el desarrollo del Estado de Bienestar. Destaca cómo este sector, que agrupa organizaciones no lucrativas y de economía social, ha pasado por fases de crecimiento, recalibración y refundación, especialmente impactadas por la crisis económica y la pandemia de COVID-19. Estas crisis han puesto en evidencia desafíos como la sostenibilidad financiera y la adaptación a nuevas formas de trabajo.

This text reviews the origin and evolution of the Third Sector in Spain, detailing its historical stages and its role in the development of the Welfare State. It highlights how this sector, which brings together non-profit and social economy organizations, has gone through phases of growth, recalibration and refoundation, especially impacted by the economic crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic. These crises have highlighted challenges such as financial sustainability and adaptation to new ways of working.
