Salud mental en estudiantes de Psicología
Abstract
The fundamental role that the psychotherapist has in the therapy and in the well-being of the
patient departing from the ethical beginning odd primum nocere, it seems that not always it is
born in mind. In Spain there are no studies that have a group of psychologists, or students of
psychology evaluating his mental health. Of there, arises the aim of this study, to evaluate the
symptomatology affectively psychological in the students of psychology and compare it with
the students of the same course in teaching. It was splitting of the hypothesis of a better
symptomatology for the students of psychology, reducing this way the possibility of harmful
therapies. For it, a social demographic questionnaire was in use who was constructed ad hoc;
besides the questionnaire of symptomatology SA-45, using the Spanish version of González
de Rivera and of The Caves et to. (1991). It was possible to conclude with the needed sample,
the existence of statistical significant differences in the most of scales of symptomatology of the SA-45 depending on the skilled career. The highest percentages of prevalence for both careers
were obtained in depression, somatization, anxiety, interpersonal sensibility, and paranoid
conception. Turning out to be not significant the differences of gender, contradicting what till
now existed in the literature. These results should open ways for future lines of investigation in
this direction, beside promoting the promotion of the mental health in the university young
people in general, giving priority to the sanitary careers, for the emotional charge and the risk of
producing hurt to thirds with the professional practice.
