José Ángel Valente y las “Dos versiones libres de Günter Kunert”. Palabra traducida: testimonio y reflejo

Abstract

El aspecto más destacado de la faceta traductora de José Ángel Valente es el sentimiento de afinidad literaria y reconocimiento propio con el texto traducido. Desde esta perspectiva, el ejercicio de las versiones le permite entablar un diálogo poético para sumarse a aquellas voces de la poesía que representan su mismo pensamiento literario. Por eso, el conocimiento de sus versiones lleva a una lectura paralela de su trayectoria poética. A través del estudio de las dos versiones del alemán Günter Kunert, realizadas en 1964, hemos observado las confluencias que se daban en los panoramas literarios del entonces existente estado de la RDA y España, para señalar así los motivos por los que Valente, desde la traducción, expresa su propio ideario poético.

The most prominent aspect of Jose Ángel Valente’s translator is the feeling of literary affi-nity and own recognition with the translated text. From this perspective the exercise of the versionsallows him to begin a poetical dialog in order to integrate his voice with those of the poetry that repre-sents the same literary thought. Therefore, the knowledge of his versions takes us to a parallel readingof his poetical path. Across the study of both versions of the German Günter Kunert, dated in 1964, wehave observed the confluences that were given in the literary panoramas of the existing state at the timeof the GDR and Spain, to indicate then the motives for which Valente, from the translation, expresseshis own poetic world.
