. Diarrhea is a prevalent gastrointestinal condition with significant global health implications, especially in pediatric and vulnerable populations. It results from altered intestinal water absorption or increased intestinal motility, often due to infections, medications, or underlying chronic conditions. This chapter explores its definition, epidemiology, etiology, physiopathology, clinical manifestations, diagnosis, and a wide range of conventional and emerging treatment strategies. In addition to pharmacological and dietary approaches, recent interest in physical therapy, including visceral manual therapy and vagus nerve stimulation, highlights the potential of multidisciplinary care to improve quality of life for patients with chronic diarrhea.
