A partir de la revisión de los estudios y la literatura, se evidencia la creciente relevancia de estos informes, especialmente en relación con la materialidad y su impacto en los grupos de interés, y de manera destacada para los inversores. El estudio adopta un enfoque innovador al examinar la Industria 5.0 y su compatibilidad con el reporte ESG, subrayando los beneficios que puede aportar a su desarrollo. No obstante, persisten limitaciones como el alto coste de digitalización empresarial y la heterogeneidad del marco normativo, pese al avance que supone la reciente Directiva CSDR de la Unión Europea. Como aportación, el trabajo propone una agenda de mejora orientada a incrementar el valor y la utilidad de estos informes, que pretende ayudar a superar las limitaciones actuales. This paper analyses the current state of environmental, social and governance (ESG) reporting. Based on a review of the existing studies and literature, it highlights the growing relevance of these reports, particularly regarding their materiality for stakeholders, and especially for investors. The study adopts an innovative approach by examining Industry 5.0 and its compatibility with ESG reporting, emphasizing the benefits it can bring to its development. However, several limitations persist, including the high cost of business digitalization and heterogeneity of the regulatory framework, despite the progress represented by the CSRD Directive of the European Union.
