Abstract

En este volumen el lector podrá encontrar cumplida información sobre la espiritualidad católica y su influjo en la sociedad hispana. La Universidad de Comillas y el Instituto Universitario La Corte en Europa (IULCE) de la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid han aunado esfuerzos para resaltar la importancia de los estudios de espiritualidad. Con este propósito se han reunido una serie de interesantes y atrevidos trabajos dentro de los cuales se podrán encontrar cuestiones no solo sobre la identificación religiosa entre los presupuestos mantenidos por la Iglesia católica y los monarcas hispanos durante los siglos XVI y XVII, sino también de los efectos de la reforma protestante, y, al mismo tiempo podrá comprobarse cómo la ideología religiosa se fue modificando, siendo notoria la diferencia desde la celebración del Concilio tridentino hasta finales del siglo XVII, lo que obliga a definir y concretar mejor el epíteto “postridentino”.

In this volume the reader will find comprehensive information on Catholic spirituality and its influence on Hispanic society. The University of Comillas and the Instituto Universitario La Corte en Europa (IULCE) of the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid have joined forces to highlight the importance of spirituality studies. To this end, a series of interesting and daring works have been brought together in which questions can be found not only on the religious identification between the assumptions held by the Catholic Church and the Hispanic monarchs during the 16th and 17th centuries, but also on the effects of the Protestant Reformation, and, at the same time, it can be seen how religious ideology was changing, the difference being notorious from the celebration of the Tridentine Council until the end of the 17th century, which makes it necessary to better define and specify the epithet ‘post-Tridentine’.
