Deuteronomio 5,1-6,3 ofrece a su lector una interesante clave de comprensión del binomio don de Dios respuesta de Israel. A la revelación más ilimitada de Dios, es decir, a la manifestación más cercana de Dios, le siguen no la respuesta de Israel de vinculación y adhesión personal e ilimitada a Dios, sino la respuesta que señala y salvaguarda la distancia con la divinidad. Deuteronomy 5 and 6, vv.1-3 offer the reader a key to understand the coupling God s gift and Israel s answer to that gift. God s unlimited and close revelation to Israel is followed not by a personal and unlimited support to God, but by an answer which respects the distance to the divinity.
