El número, la medida y lo sublime en la Crítica del Juicio de Kant

Abstract

En la analítica de lo sublime, Kant realiza unas interesantes reflexiones sobre los juicios de magnitud, la medida y el número, así como las posibles actitudes que la imaginación y la capacidad de juzgar pueden adoptar ante los objetos que juzgamos como grandes o absolutamente grandes. Kant plantea aquí como una suerte de afinación de distancia para la imaginación que la llevaría precisamente a su desbordamiento, descubriéndole desde ahí la facultad para lo suprasensible. Sin entrar en colisión con la noción kantiana del número en la dilucidación de la matemática como ciencia; aportan sin embargo estos planteamientos interesantes cuestiones para revisar aún hoy una indagación radical y fenomenológica sobre la idea de la numerabilidad y sus posibles implicaciones vitales.

In the analytic of the sublime, Kant makes some interesting reflections on the judgments of magnitude, measure and number, as well as the possible attitudes that the imagination and the power of judgment can adopt before the objects that we judge as great or absolutely great. Kant raises here as a sort of distance tuning for the imagination that would lead precisely to its overflow, discovering from there the faculty for the supra-sensitive. There is no collision with the Kantian notion of number in the foundation of mathematics as a science; however, these approach in Critique of Judgment raise interesting questions to look at even today a radical and phenomenological inquiry into the idea of numerability and its possible vital implications.
