A Modular Internet-connected Weather Monitoring Station at Haiti
Abstract
El alto nivel de pobreza en Haití ha derivado en la búsqueda de modernas y económicas soluciones que puedan impulsar el desarrollo del país. Una estación meteorológica económica, modular y conectada a Internet ha sido desarrollada, y testeada con óptimos y razonables resultados en Florida, para cubrir la necesidad de Haití en cuanto a la obtención de datos meteorológicos públicos y apoyar tareas de planificación en el sector agrícola y medioambiental. Haiti's poverty has derived in looking for modern low-cost technological solutions that could boost the country development. A low-cost modular IoT weather station has been developed, and tested with optimal and reasonable results at Florida, to serve Haiti’s need for public weather data, so it could support planning in environmental and agriculture sectors.

A Modular Internet-connected Weather Monitoring Station at HaitiTitulación / Programa
The objective of this project is to create a cost-effective, modular, IoT weather station that can serve Haiti’s need for public weather data through the University of Florida’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences(UF IFAS). To achieve this, the data is going to be collected from different sensors (temperature, humidity, pressure, wind speed, precipitation accumulated and soil moisture) that are going to be incorporated to the station.Materias/ categorías / ODS
