La importancia de la información veraz para reducir la ansiedad en el adolescente con Leucemia Linfoblástica Aguda

Abstract

La leucemia linfoblástica aguda constituye el tipo de neoplasia más común en la infancia y adolescencia. Esta enfermedad conlleva importantes síntomas físicos pero también psicológicos, los cuales son más acusados en pacientes adolescentes debido a las características propias de esta edad. Por ello, este trabajo tiene como objetivo principal reducir la ansiedad en estos enfermos durante el proceso de trasplante de células hematopoyéticas. De esta forma mejorará su estado anímico y en definitiva, su calidad de vida. Para lograr este fin, la metodología que se llevará a cabo es un proyecto educativo. Se plantea implantarlo en un Hospital de la Comunidad de Madrid, referente nacional en este ámbito de la sanidad. Se trata de un plan basado en sesiones educativas que se imparten a grupos de entre ocho y diez pacientes que cumplan los criterios de inclusión. En ellas han de tratarse diversidad de temas como la adquisición de conocimientos relacionados con su enfermedad, el refuerzo positivo de la red social y familiar o la importancia de la actitud positiva ante el proceso oncológico.

The acute lymphoblastic leukemia is the most common kind of cancer in childhood and adolescence. This disease involves important physical symptoms, but also emotional ones, which are more manifested in teenage patients because of the characteristics of this age. Therefore, this work is aimed to reduce anxiety in these patients along the process of transplant of hematopoietic cells. In this way, their mood will improve and ultimately, their quality of life. In order to get this purpose, the methodology which will be performed is an educational project. As a result, it is raised to implant it in a Hospital in the Community of Madrid, benchmark national in this area of health. It´s a plan based on educational sessions that are taught to groups of between eight and ten patients who satisfy the inclusion requirements. Through its will dealt diversity topics as the acquisition of knowledge related to their disease, the positive reinforcement of the social and family atmosphere or the importance of attitude positive to the oncological process.
