Auditoría energética de un hospital

Abstract

Hoy en día la energía representa un recurso de consumo muy necesario y vital en cualquier ámbito o sector de actividad. Por esta razón el consumo eficiente de energía se antoja esencial para cualquier institución. Factores como la subida en el precio de la energía, la necesidad de reducir la emisión de gases contaminantes, el cumplimiento de nuevas normativas o el compromiso por la penetración de energías renovables hacen de la eficiencia energética un objetivo clave. Es aquí donde entran en escena las auditorías energéticas [1], que son estudios que realizan un análisis completo y detallado de las características energéticas de cualquier edificio. Se anotan detalles de los equipos consumidores de energía, se estudia la situación geográfica, se recogen las facturas de energía y se realiza un balance energético. Con estos datos y resultados se posibilita detectar las áreas de ahorro potencial de energía, y se recomiendan una batería de medidas de ahorro energético, que permiten grandes ahorros económicos, así como la reducción de emisiones contaminantes. Entre las normativas, planes de fomento y estrategias más relevantes relativas al ahorro energético y las auditorías energéticas que existen en España, destacan el Real Decreto 56/2016, la norma ISO 50001, la norma UNE-EN 16247, el Reglamento de Instalaciones Térmicas en Edificios (RITE), el Código Técnico de la Edificación (CTE) o las guías del Instituto para la Diversificación y Ahorro de Energía (IDAE). Los hospitales son centros con consumos elevados de energía, creciendo cada vez más la urgencia de convertirlos en edificios de consumo eficiente de energía. Hay que tener en cuenta que muchos de los servicios ofrecidos en un hospital deben ser continuos e ininterrumpidos. Además, entre otras cosas, es necesario un cuidado muy riguroso para cumplir con las condiciones energéticas de higiene requeridas en distintas estancias, como los quirófanos y las salas de operaciones. Ante este panorama, en este proyecto se realiza la auditoría energética de un hospital de gran tamaño (17.957 m2, 7 plantas) y consumo (7,5 GWh/año) situado en la provincia de Madrid. El objetivo perseguido es analizar y hacer un balance del consumo energético actual del hospital, para así identificar medidas y acciones encaminadas a contribuir a mejorar la eficiencia energética del hospital y la optimización de sus recursos,consiguiendo así un ahorro energético y económico. Este proyecto ha sido realizado con la colaboración de la empresa Creara Consultores.

Nowadays energy represents a resource for consumption very necessary and essential in every area or scope of application. For this reason, efficient consumption of energy becomes essential for every institution. Factors as the rise of the energy’s price, the need to reduce contaminant emissions, the fulfillment of new energy laws or the commitment to increase the use of renewable energies make energy efficiency a clear objective. It is here where energy audits [1] play an important role. They are studies that make a complete and detailed analysis of the energetic characteristics of every building. Details of energy consumer devices are taken, geographical situation of the hospital is analyzed, energy bills are collected and an energy balance is also done. With this data and results, energy audits enable to detect areas of potential energy saving, and a list of energy saving measures is proposed in order to get economic benefits as well as the reduction of contaminant emissions. Among the regulations, standards and incentive programs existing in Spain related to energy efficiency and energy audits, there can be highlighted the Royal Decree Act 56/2016, the ISO standard 50001, the standard UNE-EN 16247, the Regulations of Thermal Installations in Buildings (RITE), the Technical Building Code (CTE) or the guides of the Institute for the Energy Diversification and Saving (IDAE). Hospitals are health centers with high energy consumptions, growing every time more the urgency to convert them into building of efficient consumption of energy. It has to be taken into account that many of the services offered by a hospital must be continued and uninterrupted. Furthermore, it is necessary a careful attention to comply with the energetic conditions of hygiene required in different rooms, such as the surgery rooms and operating rooms. In this scenario, this project consists on conducting the energy audit of a hospital of great size (17.957 m2, 7 floors) and high consumption (7,5 GWh/year) located in Madrid. The pursued objective is to analyze and make a balance of the actual energy consumption of the hospital, in order to identify measures and actions aimed to contribute to improve the energetic efficiency of the hospital and the optimization of its energy resources, obtaining a great energetic and economic saving.
