La inversión extranjera directa de China en África : ¿va más allá de recursos naturales, petróleo e infraestructuras?

Abstract

Las relaciones entre China y África se han hecho más internsas a lo largo del siglo XXI, lo cual ha venido por un incremento de los intercambios, de la inversión directa de China en África y de las relaciones institucionales. China es, desde 2009, el primer socio comercial del contiente africano y por lo tanto, se ha convertido en un actor clave y con mucha influencia en él. Las razones detrás del interés chino por áfrica son variadas, pero, sin dudad, la necesidad de recursos para fomentar el crecimiento del gigante asiático y la abundancia del continete africano de riquezas naturales ha sido importante. El sumunistro de materias primas, sin embargo, no es el úncio factor que ha jugado un rol en las relaciones sino-africanas. El rápido crecimiento del comercio entre China y África ha estado caracterizado por variables económicas, políticas y geoestrtégicas. Las relaciones han tomado un cáracter multidimensional que hace necesario un estudio profundo acerca de las circunstancias que han marcado su desarrollo, del impacto que han tenido a nivel regional y mundial y de lo que se puede esperar en el futuro.

Relations between China and Africa have become more intense throughout the 21st century, as a result of increased trade, China's direct investment in Africa and institutional relations. Since 2009, China has been the first trading partner of the African continent and, therefore, has become a key player with a lot of sway in it. The reasons behind China's interest in Africa are varied, but, undoubtedly, the need for resources to foster the growth of the Asian powerhouse and African continent's abundance of natural wealth has been important. The supply of raw materials, however, is not the only factor that has played a role in Sino-African relations. The rapid growth of trade between China and Africa has been characterized by economic, political and geostrategic variables. The relations have taken on a multi-dimensional character that makes it necessary to carry out an in-depth study of the circumstances that have marked their development, the impact that they have had on the region and the world, and what can be expected in the future.
