Abstract

Este artículo pretende analizar las dificultades inherentes a la traducción de la terminología futbolística del español al inglés, una tarea que se vuelve más problemática debido a la abundancia de falsos y pseudo anglicismos en este ámbito en español. Se ha prestado poca atención académica a las características de este tipo de traducción. Por lo tanto, este artículo se propone un análisis de un caso práctico de la traducción deportiva.

This paper seeks to analyse the difficulties inherent in the translation of football terminology from Spanish into English, a task made all the problematic by the abundance of both false and pseudo Anglicisms in the associated terms in Spanish. Little research attention has been paid to the specific characteristics of this type of translation, and this paper seeks to analyse a practical case of sports translation.
