The objective of the proposed work is to carry out research on the existing literature on the grieving process in the context of systemic family therapy, in order to study what weight have psychological variables such as attachment or the family belief system when it is needed to face the loss of a loved one.
In this regard, it is important to study the differences that happen in the family system when one of its members dies, depending on the role it occupies and the age it has, since not all members and subsystems have the same obligations or they play the same roles. According to this aspect, the moment of life in which the person dies will unleash a destructuring for the family that will be different, so that both the intervention and the restructuring by which they must pass, will also be different, having to pay attention the psychological team to these aspects.
In the same way, it should be noted that there are not two equal grieving processes, but there are not two families that live this situation in the same way, therefore, when it comes to work, in a therapeutically way, with a family the loss of a loved one, it is necessary to attend to their cultural differences, to their characteristic belief system, as well as to the centripetal or centrifugal moment in which they find themselves and to the possible dysfunctions that could pre-exist.
The type of attachment that would characterize each person would have an important role in the way in which this could face the grieving process; attending to this bonding pattern could be of great importance to carry out an adequate accompaniment and therapeutic process so that the bereaved can reorganize their life.
