Abstract
Recently witnessed a new Latin American migratory flow; this time, led by Venezuelan citizens who practically flee their country due to the serious institutional, economic, political and social crisis that affects that nation. It is estimated that more than three million Venezuelans have migrated and that 75% are residing or in transit in various Latin American countries. As mentioned in the text, Venezuela has gone from being a country of immigrants to being a country of emigrants in a very short time.
This situation brings challenges to the countries in which this community is based, to the international community and to international organizations. Challenges that comprise or should include integration policies in the broadest sense, in order to reduce the dangers of xenophobia and the vulnerability of their fundamental rights.
