¿Qué valores cívico-morales presentan nuestros estudiantes universitarios?

Abstract

Un aspecto destacable en el estudio realizado por la FIUC, La Cultura de los jóvenes en las Universidades Católicas (2014) tuvo que ver sobre la consideración que los estudiantes Universitarios tenían sobre el orden moral de las cosas. El estudio a nivel internacional obtuvo que cerca de dos tercios de los estudiantes Universitarios adoptaron una posición claramente relativista cuando se les preguntaba sobre el bien y el mal. Es decir, los estudiantes se posicionan mayoritariamente en la creencia de que todo depende de las circunstancias, nada es inamovible . Estos datos se acentúan cuando analizamos los datos obtenidos (N= 451) por los alumnos de la Universidad Pontificia Comillas de Madrid. Para éstos, el 81% mostraron una consideración más circunstancial o relativista del bien y del mal, concepción que se incrementa a su paso por la Universidad, si comparamos los porcentajes entre los alumnos de primer curso (77,7%) y último curso académico (87%). El presente trabajo pretende profundizar más en el posicionamiento relativista moral de los estudiantes Universitarios y en su implicación para la formación Católica y Universitaria, pues nos encontramos en un escenario apropiado para ayudar a nuestros jóvenes a discernir mejor sobre este asunto.

A remarkable aspect in the study carried out by the FIUC, "The Culture of young people in Catholic Universities" (2014) had to do with the consideration that the University students had about the moral order of things. The international study found that about two thirds of university students adopted a clearly relativist position when asked about good and evil. For example, the students position themselves mostly in the belief that "everything depends on the circumstances, nothing is immovable". These data are accentuated when we analyze the data obtained (N = 451) by the students of the Universidad Pontificia Comillas de Madrid. For these, 81% showed a more circumstantial or relativistic consideration of good and evil, a concept that increases as it passes through the University, if we compare the percentages among first-year students (77.7%) and the last academic year (87%). The present work tries to deepen more in the moral relativist positioning of the University students and in its implication for the Catholic and University formation, because we are in an appropriate scene to help our young people to discern better on this subject.
