Friendship, perhaps, is one of the most constitutive values of our society, as con- necting with others prevents one from slipping into unnecessary pathological iso- lation. We need to belong to someone, despite inevitably leading to suffering and pain (incomprehension and misunderstandings), because we are social beings that interaction, and that, ultimately, is what is at stake. There is nothing like affection to balance and unbalance us. This article analyses friendship with and for God: alliance, gratitude and the shared mission from a spiritual approach.
