Abstract

Esta obra examina los principales vectores geopolíticos en la región Asia-Pacífico, abordando variables cruciales como el crecimiento poblacional en el subcontinente indio, las implicaciones de la creciente demanda de energía por parte de potencias como China, Japón y Corea del Sur, el impacto del fundamentalismo religioso en el Sureste Asiático, la evolución de Asia Central como un nuevo actor geopolítico, y la maximización de la posición geográfica de Australia y Nueva Zelanda. Todo esto se ve influenciado por el ascenso claro de China e India hacia el liderazgo mundial, observado de cerca por Estados Unidos y sus aliados como Japón, Corea del Sur y Taiwán. La obra también destaca la persistencia de conflictos y tensiones en la región, como los relacionados con la península coreana, el eje afgano/pakistaní o el mar del Sur de China. Esta obra es única y necesaria, tanto por los temas que aborda como por su análisis temporal, que se extiende desde el presente hasta proyecciones futuras. This work analyzes the main geopolitical vectors in the Asia-Pacific region, addressing crucial variables such as the incessant population growth in the Indian subcontinent, the consequences of the continuous energy demand from giants in the Far East, such as China, Japan, and South Korea, the impact of religious fundamentalism in its various forms in Southeast Asia, the transformation of Central Asia as a new geopolitical actor amid profound tectonic shifts in its adjacent areas, and finally, the maximization of Australia and New Zealand's geographical position. All of this is seasoned with the clear rise of China and India to global leadership, under the watchful eye of the United States and its closest allies, such as Japan, South Korea, or Taiwan, and the persistence of conflicts and tensions, as reflected in the Korean Peninsula, the Afghan/Pakistani axis, or the South China Sea. We are facing a necessary and special work, both for the topics covered and for its temporal analysis from the present with a projection into the future. It confronts the major dilemmas presented in the Asia-Pacific region, providing the reader with clear, precise, and sometimes daring answers, allowing them to navigate the turbulent waters of this part of the world.
