Sostenibilidad y objetivos de desarrollo sostenible: ¿es posible preservar el medio ambiente manteniendo o aumentando el tráfico aéreo?

Abstract

Este trabajo de investigación analiza la situación actual del impacto del sector de la aviación en nuestro entorno y las consecuencias negativas que conlleva, pero más concretamente los avances y cambios que está experimentando. Elegí este tema por su actualidad, el reto de preservar un medio ambiente sostenible está presente en la mente de todos porque estamos en un periodo marcado por el cambio climático y si no hacemos nada, son las generaciones futuras las que tendrán que soportar las consecuencias. Queríamos entender cuáles han sido las reacciones de los actores de este mercado, que pueden influir en todo el sector aéreo. El objetivo principal es ver si es posible conciliar el aumento del tráfico aéreo con la sostenibilidad medioambiental. Hay varias preguntas de estudio que pueden ayudarnos en esta tarea, ¿Cómo puede la aviación hacerse ecológicamente responsable? ¿Tendrán estas innovaciones un impacto en la productividad y la velocidad de las empresas de transporte aéreo? ¿Cuáles serían los beneficios ambientales ?

Estas preguntas son importantes para nuestro estudio porque nos permiten comprender cómo el enfoque medioambiental de la aviación es un tema actual y que tiene consecuencias positivas. También nos permite ver la evolución de este sector, que ha pasado de ser una industria contaminante a una respetuosa con el medio ambiente

Para responder a estas preguntas, primero examinaremos la situación actual, cuáles son las formas de contaminación existentes en este sector. Además, es importante señalar que los más contaminantes no son sospechosos y que los individuos no sospechan de su existencia. En una segunda parte, veremos la evolución del pensamiento de los actores de este mercado y que hoy se pone en marcha una reestructuración del mismo, permitiendo un futuro más ecológico en una industria muy contaminante. Gracias a las innovaciones y a la reestructuración de la industria aérea, este mercado se está volviendo más respetuoso con el medio ambiente, pero con costes más elevados que sirven para lanzar la aviación verde. Además, veremos que la estructura de los aeropuertos está cambiando, aportando ventajas como la independencia en la producción de sus combustibles, o una influencia que se extiende a nivel internacional, especialmente con el ejemplo del Aeropuerto de París.

This investigative work analyses the current situation of the impact of the aviation sector on our environment and the negative consequences it brings but more concretely the advances and changes it is undergoing. I chose this topic because of its topicality, the challenge of preserving a sustainable environment is present in everyone's mind because we are in a period marked by climate change and if we do not do anything about it, it is the future generations who will have to bear the consequences. We wanted to understand the reactions of the actors of this market that could influence the entire airline industry. The main objective is to see if it is possible to reconcile the increase in air traffic with the preservation of a sustainable environment. There are several study questions that can help us in this task: How can aviation become environmentally responsible? Will these innovations have an impact on the productivity and speed of air transport companies? What would be the environmental benefits? To answer this question, we will first see the current situation of things, what are all the existing forms of pollution in this sector. Moreover, it is important to note that the most polluting ones are not suspected and that the individuals do not suspect their existence. In a second part, we will see the evolution of the thought of the leaders of this market and that today a restructuring of the market is launched, allowing a more ecological future in a very polluting industry. Thanks to innovations and restructuring in the airline industry, this market is becoming more environmentally friendly, but with higher costs that serve to launch green aviation. In addition, we will see that the structure of airports is changing, bringing advantages such as independence in the production of their fuels, or an influence that extends internationally, especially with the example of Paris Airport.
