Abstract

Este libro une dos investigaciones realizadas por el autor en torno al aborto. Partiendo del desarrollo histórico de la consideración ética del aborto, aborda los conceptos de persona y dignidad, el estatuto ontológico del embrión humano y sus concecuencias en lo relativo a las diversas definiciones y tipos de aborto que se plantean. Una característica particular de este libro es que plantea la necesaria mirada social del tema del aborto, es decir, cuando la pobreza, la desigualdad social y la exclusión son elementos de influencia a la hora de optar por el aborto y como esto demanda una respuesta socialmente responsable a la hora de abordar este tema.

This book unites two researches made by the author about abortion. Starting from the historical development of the ethical consideration of abortion, it deals with the concepts of person and dignity, the ontological status of the human embryo and its consequences in relation to the various definitions and types of abortion that are proposed. A particular characteristic of this book is that it poses the necessary social view of the issue of abortion, that is, when poverty, social inequality, and exclusion are influential elements when it comes to choosing abortion, and how this demands a socially responsible response when addressing this issue.
